Spokane award for dog photography
None of this seems real.
I’ve even been keeping it a secret since I found out, because I keep telling myself it isn’t real.
I can’t help but think “how is this happening?” After all, I’ve been in business for less than a year.
I don’t know on whom I’ve made such an impact but, if you’re reading this, thank you.
The award comes from the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene Living magazine readers.
Each year, the magazine — owned and operated by Bozzi Media — asks readers to vote for their favorite businesses and services around Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
In the photography category, I earned the Silver badge! I’m the second most favorite shooter Living readers.

The issue with my name in it hits the stands this month.
And, yes, I’m sending a copy of it home to my mom.
The nuts and bolts
Awards are great.
I have a few under my belt from my days as a sports writer in Canada.
They let a girl know that her work has value, that people enjoy her work, and that what she’s doing is meaningful.
Pet photography is an art that’s so close to my heart. My boy Shep, who died in 2014, and my four-year-old Maremma sheepdog, Bella, are my inspiration every time I pick up the camera.
I want every pet owner to have beautiful images of her and her fur babies, those best friends that are at the door waiting for you every time you come home.
They’re such a big part of our world.
And I’m so thrilled when you want me to share a little piece of that world and honor the bond you have with your pet.
This award is icing on the cake.
