P52: Smells like spring spirit

Confession time: I never quite *got* Nirvana, or any of the Seattle grunge-type music.

But the riff off Smells Like Teen Spirit popped into my head when I sat down to write this week’s blog post for the worldwide pet photography circle.

Topic: green.

Spring is in the air. Please. For the love of all that’s good in the world, Mother Nature, hear my pleas for green grass, colorful flowers and warm sun.

Pllllllleeeeaaaasse.

When we got the notice Monday about Tuesday’s winter weather advisory, a teeny tiny piece of my soul died. By Wednesday afternoon, though, the sun was out and the mercury was rising.

Mother Nature heard me.

I just hope she doesn’t strike back at us for putting the patio furniture out.

That was taken in a quick minute with my new Google Pixel, becase I’ve been swamped editing client galleries.

SIDEBAR: I still haven’t figured out how awesome the camera is but it’s showing promise. It’s only the 2 and I got it on a steal of a deal, so I’m still missing out on the latest features. But at least I don’t have to charge it every time I run out my lives on Candy Crush Soda Saga.

And Bella certainly doesn’t mind not having to model all the time lately.

See how grumpy she gets with me?

She has such a wicked sideeye.

The roads are beckoning

Adventure season is beckoning and the Road Warriors will be striking out soon whenever we get the chance.

Because this is happening:

I’m showing you the forecast in both Celsius and Fahrenheit for two reasons:

  1. I grew up on Celsius in Canada. I have no idea what Fahrenheit means. I’m lost on it.
  2. Some of my readers are in Canada, New Zealand and Australia (shout out, yo!) and I figure they might look at Fahrenheit and think whhhaaaat?!?!?

So things are coming up green.

Including these:

The radishes are the first to come up! I always get super excited about my garden this time of year. I’m late starting but, hey, so is spring.

We’re even.

And now … a dog wearing green

No, really.

I have one.

I lucked out.

As I was bemoaning the lack of greenery around me, I was editing a gallery and realized, “Good grief, Cracker is wearing a green collar. Hallelujah!”

Cracker is one of the rescue dogs I’ll be featuring soon. You saw a first glimpse of my little pugsky friend and his family a couple of weeks when I wrote about Home.

We shot the heck out of Falls Park in Post Falls, Idaho, one of my favorite locations.

Here he is, all snuggled up with his best girl, Kailei ..

Who is …

Wearing …

OMG …

A green jacket!

Sometimes, things just have a funny way of working out.

Just loved reading your blog for the week. I too cleaned up the patio and put out the furniture and we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow. Our grass right now is what I lovingly call, “puke” yellow. I always marvel at how bad it looks right now and how it overcomes all the badness to become lush greenery in the summer. I am with you on the Nirvana thing. 🙂

Our world is still very white here on the Canadian prairies and we are soooo ready for any promise of green. Your temps for the coming days look so awesome (thanks for the Celsius… I am lost with Fahrenheit). I must admit to being a little green with envy. 🙂 Gotta love this time of year and the hope and the smiles it brings.

We are still heavily loaded with snow. It rained at 36 degrees Fahrenheit and left standing water everywhere. This morning, the magic of water to ice! Oh to have those dreamy temps!

Way to find some green by luck!
